Summary : 
Technical Lead Platform Simplification Project

This position is an important lead role in the Platform Simplification project which is migrating applications from AIX to a new Linux or Windows based technical stack. Responsible for technical leadership of project to capture technical requirements from existing applications, define the changes to the applications to conform to new infrastructure standards and request new technical infrastructure required to migrate the application. Responsible for estimating/sizing of technical work, creating work stories, leading matrix team of developers, Engineers, QA resources, etc. Accountable for the technical quality of solutions. Coordinates various technical teams and ensure timely execution of the various tasks for the migrations. Managing technical execution risks & issues. The types of applications to be migrated range from Java applications, packaged applications, existing Linux or Windows applications, etc. For Java applications migration prior experience in WebSphere application server Java code to Tomcat or JBoss or re-platforming applications that currently execute on AIX or Solaris to Linux or Windows is important.
Description

The selected candidate will lead and manage complex application software migration, testing and implementation on new infrastructure stack for many enterprise applications from a complex legacy environment into a new and simplified standards based operating environment.
Responsible for the Application delivery and quality of the solution and related deliverables
Responsible for facilitating and enforcing Application delivery
Ensuring Application solution adheres to define architecture, functional and technical scope
Responsible for Functional & Application Tech Design quality and solution
Review or author Application technical requirements and acceptance criteria
Review and Signs off on Application task Completion
Works with Technical Manager to prioritize infrastructure stories
Support Application Release Planning & Strategy
Participate in Test Plan and Execution
Support Application migration design and estimation
Responsible for effectively initiating, planning, scheduling, estimating, forecasting, coordinating, controlling, managing and delivering all application activities for the migration. Your peer will be responsible for all infrastructure related activities.
Direct daily activities for application project team.
Oversee the day-to-day progress of project(s) and release initiatives with regard to time, budget, scope and quality.
Apply proven project management techniques, methods and tools.
Provide leadership, direction and integrate activities with other Client  IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support.
Partner with Technical Management and Architecture to ensure that systems are developed to comply with architectural and testing standards and established methodologies.
Aggressively manage risk and issues; and mitigation efforts as appropriate.
Use innovative problem solving and critical thinking approaches to proactively solve a broad range of problems across technologies.
Encourage de-centralized decision-making within teams, but acts as escalation point when consensus decisions cannot be reached.
Guides QA lead or QA Analysts.
Open to changing business conditions, technology and system changes.
