Bash Shell Scripting is a must. Good to have Python.
- Understanding of Hadoop Architecture and hands on HDFS commands. (You should able to tell difference between MapReduce and SPARK)
- Basic Knowledge of Control-M Scheduling. Good to have knowledge of Apace Airflow.
- Understanding of CI/CD process. (Git, Jenkins)
- Good to have Cloud Understanding.
 
Responsibilities:
• Evaluates system potential & features by testing compatibility of new releases with existing customer configurations
• Release certification to ensure all capabilities of the customer configurations is intact
• Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution maintaining the customer agreed service level agreement
• Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify root cause & solutions to resolve customer issues
• Initiate conference calls as needed and collaborate with necessary internal support groups for issue resolution
• Coordinate with IT groups and external vendors and ensure effective application services to ensure reliability of all applications
• Provide operational support to all production practices and be available as on-call when needed
• Monitor all alerts and escalate all issues for all procedures and systems
• Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
• Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles
• Maintains historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Attend Change Advisory Board meetings and prepare risk mitigation plans for the applications that is supported
• Prepare weekly project status & set up review meetings with client to track progress
• Prepare monthly SLA reports for the project and review with client.
Address knowledge gaps if any Skill set – Operations Support resources with 5-7 years exposure to:
- Understanding of Oracle DBMS
- Basic knowledge of Unix Shell scripting
- Should have basic knowledge of Java
- J2EE runtime environments, technology stacks
- Familiar with PL/SQL
Responsibilities:
• Monitor online health of production Java and other applications environments thru dashboards and other available tools
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with online production application
• Notify the right stakeholders in case of issues and keep everybody updated of the statuses
• Participate in triage conference calls with necessary internal support groups and the technical stakeholders for issue resolution
• Contribute to the RCA for the production defects by research, diagnosis, troubleshooting and identification of root cause to provide solutions to resolve customer issues Release Management –
• Support the release process with verification and validation through the release process
• Evaluates system potential & features by testing compatibility of new releases with existing customer configurations
• Release certification to ensure all capabilities of the customer configurations is intact Maintenance and Support –
• Supporting the patch implementations and updates to the servers etc. • Coordinate change and issue resolution activities with network, middleware, hardware, OS, DB, and external application groups
• Escalation point for Level 1 support
• Provide operational support to all production practices and be available as on-call when needed
• Monitor all alerts and escalate all issues for all procedures and systems
• Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
• Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles
• Maintains historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Contribute to the preparation of weekly project status reporting Prod Support, UNIX, UNIX Scripting, batch processing, JAVA RTE Candidate should have Dev Ops or Operations or SRE(Site Reliability Engineer) background with knowledge in running jobs in Java, Hadoop, Linux etc. 6+ years of experience with at least couple of related support projects. CI/CD experience, preferable setting up pipelines.
Preferred Skills:
5+ years UNIX/Linux Administration/Support Java J2EE runtime env knowledge/support Middleware admin/support (WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, etc.) Hadoop admin/support experience Scripting skills(shell, perl, python)
