Summary

The Digital Engineering Lead is a subject matter expert behind technical/technology decisions for the team.
The Digital Engineering Lead is a key driver of the visionary force behind the technical solution and partners with team to succeed with goals.
The Digital Engineering Lead places strong value on simplicity and is unafraid to challenge technical constraints and procedures to achieve an Agile design.
The Digital Engineering Lead works closely with all team members to create a modular, scalable solution that addresses/incorporates future architectural changes and designs. In partnership with Technical Leaders across IT capability teams, The Digital Engineering Lead drives the teams engineering practices in test driven development (TDD), continuous integration (CI), and automated continuous deployment (CD).
The Digital Engineering Lead leads across agile delivery teams, actively coaches the team to solve complex problems and removes roadblocks to ensure team success.

Roles & Responsibilities


Provide overall technical engineering leadership and oversight for the Customer Experience capability (B2B experiences and solutions). This role will also serve as a solution architect for this capability.


Development Best Practices & Technical TeamPerformance
  • Institute test driven development (TDD) practices.
  • Coach and mentor technical team members, specifically with development best practices and through code reviews.
  • Institute best practices and mature QA methodology, processes, and tools to drive QA automation, performance engineering and testing (including stages of testing, associated environments and test data discipline).
  • Institute processes for end-to-end integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Design a performance strategy and implement performance tools to test, fix and improve existing processes.

CI/CD Maturity
  • DevOps
  • Plan and Implement DevOps principles to shorten the timeof delivery of new product features using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Consolidate code branching strategy to have a clear pathto production releases.
  • Release Management
  • Lead release management activities for the IT capability teams.


Production Support Maturity
  • Manage relationships with third-party partners, focusingon performance and improvements against agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Develop and implement a KTLO framework that drives a customer-first culture with issue prioritization, management, and resolution incompliance with established business KPIs. Start with Enterprise Transformation Office (ExO) capabilities and solution teams, then influence across all IT capability teams over time.
  • Assist in formalizing a production support structure with the following:
  • Central incident management application.
  • Resources who comply with the ITIL model.
  • Knowledge Base documentation.
  • Access to appropriate systems.

Monitoring Infrastructure
  • Drive implementation of necessary instrumentation (i.e.,proactive monitoring, logging) and site metrics (i.e., Adobe analytics) acrossRockwell Automation digital landscape to:
  • Enable decisions based on data.
  • Capture the end-to-end customer journey.
  • Review performance against SLAs.
  • Drive implementation of end-to-end performance and platform health monitoring tools including alert mechanisms.

Innovation
  • Constant lookout for innovation and process excellence, digitization, and digital engineering opportunities to drive better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution in partnership with IT technical leads and Digital Themes/capability teams.
  • Not afraid of challenging the status quo.

Future Vision
  • Evaluate future technology stack to make use of service- oriented architecture (SOA), microservice architecture (MSA), headless commerce, and cloud deployments.

Preferred Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters in CS, MIS, Digital Software Engineering, or equivalent engineering/technical degree.
  • Prefreably 10+ years of technical leadership/technicallead experience in a technology company.
  • Experience developing and working with B2B and/or B2C platform/solutions is required.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience manager (AEM) is required.
  • Expertise with CI/CD.
  • Seasoned senior developer or technical lead with strong leadership skills, and deep insight into newest technologies and trends.
  • Experience with functional programming is a plus.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring technical team membersin problem solving and applying best practices.
  • Seen as an expert within the technical components of the domains/products/journeys.
  • Can provide technical leadership at a team/product level
  • Extensive experience and expertise in Agile development and release management within an Agile framework.
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus.
  • Understands relationship with Product Owner, Design Lead, mand rest of technical team.
  • Experience managing technical priorities within the backlog.
  • Experience managing the overall delivery through thealigned team (Scrum and Scrum of Scrums).
