Core Requirements

 

  • Professional Background: At least six years of hands-on experience as an electrical engineer specifically within the construction or design-build industries.

  • Technical Mastery: High-level expertise in Revit is essential, particularly for electrical systems modeling and cross-disciplinary BIM coordination.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: A comprehensive grasp of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant local electrical regulations.

  • Documentation Skills: The capacity to develop intricate technical drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Academic Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related discipline) is highly desirable.

  • Industry Perspective: Prior experience directly employed by or collaborating closely with electrical contractors.

  • Software Stack: Familiarity with industry-standard tools including AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto, Bluebeam, BIM 360/ACC, and Procore.

 

Design & Engineering

  • Design Leadership: Direct the electrical engineering lifecycle for diverse sectors, including industrial, commercial, institutional, and mission-critical facilities.

  • Model Development: Construct and maintain comprehensive Revit models encompassing power systems, lighting, grounding, telecommunications, and fire safety layouts.

  • Technical Analysis: Conduct essential electrical assessments, such as arc flash analysis, voltage drop, fault current, and load calculations.

  • Standards Review: Evaluate and apply project specifications, client requirements, and regulatory codes like NFPA and NEC.

  • System Integration: Guarantee that all designs are accurate, feasible for construction, and seamlessly integrated with other trades.

Project Management & Coordination

  • Lifecycle Oversight: Manage all engineering outputs from the initial conceptual phase through final project closeout.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Utilize BIM/Revit to sync design efforts with architectural, structural, and mechanical partners.

  • Meeting Facilitation: Head technical reviews, model walkthroughs, and BIM clash detection meetings.

  • Administrative Support: Assist project leadership with budget tracking, scheduling, RFI responses, and submittal processing.

  • Technical Consulting: Offer expert troubleshooting and engineering guidance throughout the construction phase.

Construction Support

  • Documentation Review: Audit shop drawings, as-builts, and field modifications to ensure high levels of precision.

  • Field Liaison: Work alongside onsite crews to resolve installation hurdles and manage design adjustments.

  • Site Inspections: Perform physical site evaluations to confirm that field conditions align with engineered plans and specifications.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all work meets the requirements of the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction), local codes, and internal excellence benchmarks.

  • Peer Review: Execute internal audits and design checks to maintain high-quality deliverables.

  • BIM Standards: Verify that all Revit outputs conform to both corporate protocols and client-specific requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Professional Mentorship: Guide the career growth of junior engineers and BIM technicians.

  • Technical Training: Oversee instruction regarding Revit workflows, modeling best practices, and electrical design methodologies.
