Civil Litigation Attorney

Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000 Base Salary + Annual Billing Bonus
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join a dynamic litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned attorney with substantial civil litigation experience, strong courtroom advocacy skills, and a proven ability to independently manage complex cases through trial and resolution.
The successful candidate will handle all aspects of litigation, collaborate directly with clients, and develop strategic legal solutions to achieve favorable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including trial and appeal.
- Conduct case evaluations and develop effective litigation strategies.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Prepare and argue motions before state and federal courts.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Maintain regular client communication and provide case updates and strategic recommendations.
- Coordinate with expert witnesses, investigators, and litigation support professionals.
- Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Ensure compliance with court deadlines, procedural requirements, and case management obligations.
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensing
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of civil litigation experience.
- Demonstrated first-chair trial experience.
- Experience independently managing cases from inception through resolution.
- Strong knowledge of California civil procedure, evidence, and litigation practice.

Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid position offering flexibility for remote work.
Attorneys are expected to attend in person for:
- Client meetings
- Depositions
- Team meetings
- Court appearances and other required proceedings
Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Citrus Heights office.
Billable Hour Requirement
- Annual billable requirement: 1,800 hours
Attorney Bonus Program
Attorneys who meet the annual billable-hour requirement are eligible for a performance bonus.
Bonus Structure
- Must achieve the annual goal of 1,800 billable hours.
- Earn $50 per hour for each credited hour worked above the annual goal.
- Bonus calculations are based on credited time, including qualifying billable and approved administrative time.
- Bonus eligibility is capped at 250 hours above goal.
Maximum Annual Bonus Opportunity
