Mechanical Engineer – SolidWorks | Santa Barbara, CA | Contract to Hire | Onsite role | AS
Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and products using SolidWorks.
Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing documentation.
Participate in the complete product development lifecycle from concept through prototype, testing, and production.
Perform mechanical design analysis and evaluate designs for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
Support prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
Apply GD&T and engineering drawing standards where required.
Work with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design and production issues.
Support continuous improvement and design optimization activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Professional experience in mechanical/product design and development.
Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks.
Experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical tolerancing.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
