Civil Trial Attorney , Fullerton, California,Full Time,(MK)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil litigation matters from inception through trial, verdict, and appeal.
- Conduct case evaluations and develop strategic litigation plans.
- Handle all aspects of discovery, including written discovery and depositions.
- Prepare, draft, and argue motions, including dispositive motions and Motions in Limine.
- Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct legal research and analyze applicable statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials.
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts while maintaining thorough case documentation.
- Coordinate expert witness retention, preparation, and testimony.
- Provide clients with regular case updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
- Monitor legal developments and advise clients on potential impacts to ongoing matters.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, advocacy, and client service.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 8 years of civil litigation defense experience.
- Significant experience handling matters through all stages of litigation, including appeals.
- Proven ability to independently manage a complex caseload.
Trial Experience Requirements
Candidates must have served as first-chair counsel in:
- At least 6 jury trials taken to verdict in California State Superior Court.
- At least 3 bench trials taken to verdict in California State Superior Court.

Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in Fullerton, California. New hires are expected to work on-site during the first two weeks of employment for onboarding and training. Following this period, the role may be performed on a hybrid basis, with periodic in-office meetings and court appearances as required.
Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the office and be available for in-person court appearances.

Compensation
