POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating and performing daily shipping and receiving activities within the warehouse and manufacturing environment. This position ensures accurate receipt, verification, documentation, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, parts, tools, and equipment.
The position prepares and maintains shipping and receiving documentation, verifies incoming and outgoing materials against purchase orders, bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and other applicable records, and ensures shipments are properly prepared and processed.
The Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Clerk may operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and company vehicles to safely load, unload, transport, and distribute materials. The position also maintains accurate inventory and receiving records, processes returned goods, supports internal material movement, and delivers materials to vendors, customers, and off-site company locations.
The position is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe receiving and shipping area and for supporting continuous improvement of warehouse processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive, inspect, count, weigh, and verify incoming parts, materials, supplies, and equipment for accuracy and completeness.

Compare incoming and outgoing shipments to purchase orders, bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, work orders, and other applicable documentation.

Prepare, process, and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation and records.

Prepare shipments for transportation, including packaging, labeling, weighing, documenting, and staging materials as required.

Load and unload trucks and other vehicles safely and efficiently for deliveries, pickups, and shipments.

Maintain accurate records of received materials, shipments, returned goods, and related transactions in the applicable company systems.

Enter and maintain timely and accurate receiving and inventory information in the company computer system.

Dispatch and distribute materials to designated warehouses and departments daily.

Receive, organize, and maintain inventory of the tool and supply cabinet in accordance with established procedures.

Maintain accurate inventory levels and promptly report discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, or other receiving issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and applicable training requirements.

Maintain current authorization/certification as an Client Design Inc. forklift operator, as required.

Perform routine pre-use inspections of forklifts and company vehicles and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

Maintain company vehicle inspection and maintenance records as required.

Deliver materials, parts, supplies, documents, or other items to vendors, customers, and designated off-site company locations.

Ship all items requiring shipment in accordance with company procedures and applicable carrier requirements.

Assist with office, department, and facility relocations, including the movement of materials, equipment, furniture, and supplies.

Respond to telephone calls and inquiries during business hours regarding shipping, receiving, deliveries, and related activities.

Work closely with the Supervisor and Receiving Lead to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material-handling processes.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including the receiving dock, warehouse areas, and designated areas behind the building.

Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable ISO procedures.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and material-handling equipment, including forklifts, as authorized and trained.

Ability to accurately receive, count, weigh, identify, and document materials.

Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, shipping documents, and other related records.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities with competing deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and inventory information.

Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, vendors, customers, and transportation providers.

Working knowledge of computers and standard office software.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred.

Ability to learn and effectively use company inventory, shipping, receiving, and recordkeeping systems.

Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

Knowledge of basic warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-handling practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or materials environment preferred.

Previous forklift and material-handling experience preferred.

Experience with computerized inventory, shipping, or receiving systems preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to perform physical and administrative activities associated with warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations.
The employee must be able to frequently perform activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting. The position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The employee must be able to operate a computer, telephone, calculator, copier, fax machine, and other standard office and warehouse equipment. The position requires frequent use of forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
The position also requires frequent driving of a personal and/or company vehicle for business-related deliveries, pickups, and material transfers.
The employee must have sufficient hearing and vision to safely perform job duties and accurately inspect, identify, count, and document materials. The position requires clear and professional verbal communication with employees, vendors, customers, and other business contacts, both in person and by telephone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and may involve exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, loading and unloading activities, varying temperatures, dust, noise, and other conditions commonly associated with warehouse and manufacturing operations.
Employees are expected to follow all applicable safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
