Job Description:
We have a need for an Architect to upgrade HDP, install nifi, secure it and one ingest data flow
  1. Client Data Platform (HDP) Upgrade and Security – Eight (8) Days
Client will upgrade one instance of HDP to the latest version of HDP.
  1. Upgrade Process Review
    1. Discuss key points that will dictate upgrade decisions
    2. Determine upgrade type
  2. Readiness
    1. Confirm environment readiness
  3. HDP Upgrade
    1. Upgrade Ambari
    2. Upgrade HDP
    3. Ensure smoke test results were successful
    4. Shut down and restart all services
  4. Security Configuration
    1. Kerberos Configuration
      1. Configure HDP for Kerberos
  5. Ranger Configuration
    1. Configure Ranger Usersynch Active Directory
    2. Demonstrate one policy configuration
  6. Ambari
    1. Configure Ambari for Active Directory
  7. Review activities performed with Customer team
  8. HDF Installation and Data Ingestion – Two (2) Weeks and Two (2) Days
Client will install Client Data Flow ( "HDF”) into one (1) environment and perform the necessary configurations. Client will review data requirements and objectives with Customer, design and develop a single data flow, demonstrate data flow and resolve any reported HDF related data ingest issues.
  1. Installation
    1. Architectural Review
      1. Discuss key points that dictate software component selection and installation.
      2. Review and validate the installation platform whether physical, cloud, or hybrid.
    2. HDF Installation
      1. Installation and configuration of HDF software components via separate Ambari instance based on the agreed upon deployment architecture.
      2. Initial tuning of HDF cluster based on best practices.
    3. Kerberos Configuration
      1. Configure HDF for Kerberos
    4. Ranger Configuration
      1. Configure Ranger Usersynch Active Directory
      2. Demonstrate one policy configuration
    5. Ambari
      1. Configure Ambari for Active Directory
    6. HDF Operational Enablement
      1. Enablement of HDF service monitoring and alerting mechanisms provided by the HDF service components
      2. Enablement of HDF service components high-availability features
    7. Review activities performed with Customer team
  1. Data Ingestion
    1. Review Data Source and requirements
    2. Configuration of one data flow against one relational DB source.
    3. Data Validation
      1. Support Customer's data validation effort
      2. Resolve identified HDF data ingest issues
    4. Review activities performed with Customer team
  1. Transition HDF to Customer Team
    1. Review activities performed with Customer team
    2. Discuss internal Customer roles and skills in support of HDF
  2. Transition to Support
    1. Update Client customer support team on all activities performed
 
  1. Resident Architect - One (1) Week
Upon completion of the HDP and HDF tasks, Client will provide one (1) Architect to work with the Customer teams for a one week period. Responsibilities may include the following as mutually agreed upon between Client and Customer.
  1. Provide Hadoop architecture expertise, work with Customer teams for instilling Hadoop design best practices
  2. Provide expertise and guidance around HDP/HDF architecture, security, and development
  3. Provide troubleshooting support on Hadoop related issues encountered by Customer's team on Client clusters
  4. Support Customer in the architecture, design, and deployment of HDP/HDF cluster(s) as needed
  5. Support Customer team with design and validation of cluster architecture and implementation with use case requirements in mind
  6. Support Customer team through configuration activities
