The Sr. Systems Engineer designs and implements computer systems, software, and networks. Key function will be in monitoring the performance of systems, problem identification, and application of best practices in a complex server environment to support the scalability and sustainability of all IT Systems.   • Provides advanced technical support and administration of core infrastructure systems including but not limited to: Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems; Active Directory, MS Exchange 2010, SQL Server 2008, IIS, DNS, DHCP, and Clustering.
  • Directly supports and configures all VMware virtual software and infrastructure.
  • Provides hands on support and configuration for EMC VNX storage systems.
  • Works closely with the Director of IT, Systems Administrator, and Helpdesk staff to ensure exceptional customer service for all support needs.
  • Develops, documents, and prepares drawings, procedures, processes and other related documentation for all Infrastructure environments.
  • Defines complex system requirements, determining system specifications, processes and working parameters.
  • Provides disaster recovery protection to critical data by ensuring backup programs are properly configured, administered and maintained; maintain proper configuration and use of tape library, LTO drive & Backup software develop and test recovery processes.
  • Serves as a technical expert for mentoring more junior support staff and provide L3 IT service center support as needed.
  • Provides input and helps to implement/enforce network and security policies.
  • Ensures virus management and security systems are updated and operating properly.
  • Provides direct support for network infrastructure including Cisco switches, routers, firewalls and access servers.
  • After hours\on-call support when required.
  • Provide daily operations support and maintenance for Windows and related information technology assets.
  • Work closely with development teams to resolve product issues.
  • Develop and document standardized troubleshooting techniques used to analyze system incidents.
  • Define systems monitoring procedures.
  • Provide ongoing oversight and continuous process improvement of ongoing system procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, IT Systems Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years experience with Windows server 2003\2008 R2.
  • 3+ years experience with SQL server 2005/2008 in a clustered environement.
  • 3+ years experience with MS Exchange 2010 in a clustered environment.
  • General working knowledge with Storage Resource Management (NAS and SAN Technologies), EMC experience a plus.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, FTP, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, etc.).
  • Experience in management and deployment of load balancers (F5 preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory 2010.
  • Experience in diagnosing network and service issues, following them through to resolution.
  • Strong data networking experience. Experience with switching and internet routing technologies.
  • Administrative expertise with VMware ESX.
  • Strong knowledge of backup solutions (Backup Exec).
  • Windows SQL and Exchange clustering experience required.
  • Experience with Dell Blade servers preferred.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
