This is a DBA position responsible for the analysis and modernization of mission critical databases in Production and QA environments. Activities include mentoring and direct support of critical Oracle & SQL Server database conversions to Windows and Linux DBMS platforms, analyse performance, space and latency requirements, review and implement schema modifications, fine tune database and SQL statements. This person must have both OLTP and OLAP experience and will work in a cross-function environment with project managers, engineers and system & network administrators to roll out modernized databases.

• Utilize strong database administration experience and technical expertise for 24x7 monitoring and management of a large number of Oracle & SQL Server instances with large data sets as well as unique networking set-ups
• Perform Oracle & SQL Server activities in an efficient manner including collaborating with other teams for, planning and testing with other departments, reporting problems and recommending remediation measures
• Responsible for responding to support escalations which involve troubleshooting complex technical problems and resolving data/configuration issues within defined service level objectives
• Provide strategic and thought leadership among peers on complex projects
• Collaboration with peers in understanding new database technologies, assessing impact to security services operations, and proposing solutions to existing business problems
• Collaboration in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to develop detailed enhancement/bug definitions, write functional requirements, translate the requirements into solution designs, and navigate the functional requirements through to Production deployments
• Proactively look for ways to create operational efficiencies as it pertains to the tools and technology used by the client to support their customer base
• Participate in, or directly work on any additional projects, assignments, or initiatives assigned by management
• Create/maintain documentation for operational procedures
• Document and perform system upgrades, application updates, and define monitoring requirements based on customer needs

Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of Oracle database administration experience. In particular, 11g and 12C.
• 3+ years of SQL Server database administration experience. In particular, 2012 and 2014.

Oracle DBMS:
• Experience with Oracle Recovery Manager, Oracle Dataguard & Goldengate
• Implement replication/backup/recovery of databases and database movement between environments.
• Experience in Linux/ Unix shell scripting, shell command, crontab and vi editor
• Database objects creation, DB object migration and data conversion
• Proven experience in supporting 24x7 high volume production OLTP databases
• Experience in database design and modelling, addressing areas such as data integrity, data retention and data analysis
• Strong experience with various Oracle and open-source monitoring tools in addition to writing custom database-monitoring scripts
• Excellent database performance tuning and capacity planning skills
• Strong experience securing SQL Server/Oracle databases and implementing additional security best practices
• Experience with various features of Oracle; like replication, partitioning, clustering etc.
• Strong SQL tuning skills
• Experience migrating/upgrading Oracle databases and applying required patches
• Experience converting business requirements into technical database specifications utilizing latest Oracle & SQL Server features
SQL Server:
• Extensive experience in Installation, Configuration, Patches, Upgrades and administration for SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012 & 2014 in Clustered (Failover) and standalone environments.
• Hands on experience in Migration of SQL Server 2005, 2008R2/2008 to SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 (side by side and in-place) which included production and non-production environments.
• Implement database backup & recovery, data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
• Experience in solving Database issues with Index fragmentation, DBCC checks, Optimization of Query, Data Integrity, Index tuning, Update Statistics, Error and Event Handling.
• Extensive experience in implementation of High Availability/Disaster Recovery concepts (AlwaysOn Database Availability and Instance Availability) for SQL Server 2012/2014 versions.
• Must be aware of Performance analysis tools such as, SQL Server Profiler, Major Perfmon counters and SQL Server DMVs.
• Experience with SSIS/SSRS and SSAS.
• Experience in MySQL, Cassandra, or Mongo is a plus

Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or equivalent work experience
