 Job Description

As a [Cisco] Services Consulting Engineer you will specialize on customer specific solution validations.
You will fine tune and test designs, implement security processes, controls, and configurations in an automated fashion up and down the stack and across a broad range of state-of-the-art technologies.

Who You Are
You will impact Cisco customers every single day! While working with cutting edge security products with strong focus on our Firepower NGFW (Sourcefire) product line, you can efficiently and effectively validate customer specific solutions:
  • You troubleshoot system, software, and networking problems
  • You love reproducing customer issues in a lab environment
  • You're passionate about contributing documentation to a create customer specific deliverables.
  • You can create escalation requests and submit product defect reports to Engineering
  • You enjoy the testing of patch releases and product updates.
  • You are comfortable leading complex technical discussions.
  • Good communication and customer facing skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation)
Minimum Qualifications
  • You have achieved a Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering or the equivalent in work experience
  • You have 2-3 years of customer support experience
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • You have strong people skills; the ability to collaborate with customers and other internal teams is one of your strengths.
  • You have experience with Linux / UNIX command line tools / environment; Perl and/or bash shell scripting.
  • You have intermediate to advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, network protocol and packet analysis.
  • You're familiar with Snort or other intrusion detection system
  • You have some level of experience in the following list and in-depth expertise (subject matter expert) in at least one area:
    • Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Firewalls
    • Cisco Next Gen Firepower IPS (NGIPS)
    • Cisco Next Gen Firepower Firewall (NGFW)
    • Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
    • Cisco FireAmp (Advanced Malware protection)
    • Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC)
    • Cisco Security Manager (CSM)
    • Cisco Identity Services Engine (Client)
    • Cisco Secure Integrated Software (IOS Firewalls),
    • SSL (Security Sockets Layer) and SSH (Secure Shell)
    • VPN and IPSEC protocols 
Desired Skills
  • Experience with Active Directory or other LDAP implementations
  • Experience with Snort / Python / Virtualization (Vmware, Azure, AWS etc, Docker,GIT) / Wireshark / Linux / Windows
  • Automation of monitoring for security, using tools like Prometheus, Splunk, DataDog, etc.
  • Cybersecurity-related certification(s), including CCSP, CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with IXIA and/or SPIRENT tools is desirable
  • Ability to debug and fix complex network problems
  • 802.1x, NAC
